February is the perfect month to talk about collaborations…especially in the Audio-Visual Industry, which brings-about some love-connections of our own. Here are just a few…
Biamp & Cambridge Sound Management (CSM): CSM – a leader in direct & in-plenum sound-masking solutions – with 50-percent market share in this sector – has been acquired by audio & video giant, Biamp. In a story about this transaction in rAVe Pubs – Biamp’s President, CEO, & co-Chairman, Rashid Skaf said “The acquisition of CSM unites two great brands… Together, we offer customers better access to industry leading solutions that manage sound & video to address a wide array of modern communications & collaboration challenges.” The marriage of these two leaders in sound technology offers clients the opportunity to get both of their capabilities in a single integrated platform – & that’s music to everybody’s ears!
Egan Visual & Exact Furniture, Ltd.: Following its recent acquisition of acoustical panel manufacturer, Workin Walls, Egan has now also acquired Exact Furniture, Ltd. Egan – known for its whiteboards & glassboards, can now offer Exact Furniture’s line of professional furniture products, most of which are designed & customized for technology integration. Exact Furniture’s line of merchandise includes lecterns, tables, desks, & credenzas – furniture that’s manufactured for use in both educational & professional settings. The nationwide network of Pro AV Integrators whom Exact Furniture has served for the past 15 years, will benefit from Egan’s production, sales support, & industrial design capabilities as well.
RGB Communications & Legrand AV: These two organizations have partnered in order to make it possible for more expedited delivery of Middle Atlantic racks to European markets. Up to now, stock that wasn’t immediately available had to be shipped or flown-in from the United Stated, which made for long wait-times. Now with this new partnership formed, the longest wait for any popular item should be only up to seven days. Be on the lookout for future announcements from RGB, regarding the distribution of other Legrand brands – including Chief, Vaddio, Projecta, & DaLite.
Midwich AV Distribution & Prase Engineering: These organizations have proven to be leaders in the AV Distribution sector in Europe, & with this newly formed partnership, Midwich can now become a strong presence in the Italian market. Both of these companies are past winners of InAVation Awards for “Distributors of the Year” – so this will surely prove to be a match made in heaven! (They are both current nominees for the same award this year as well.) Managing Director of the Midwich Group, Stephen Fenby, is quoted in an article in InAVate saying “We are delighted to welcome…the Prase team to the Midwich Group. The company has a very strong reputation – not only in Italy, but also in the European AV market as a whole. Prase has an excellent portfolio of vendor partners…with an extensive range of value-added support.”
ISE’s 2019 Show in Amsterdam: This week – from February 5th through the 8th, the AV industry’s preeminent European love-fest will be underway. Manufacturers, integrators, & everyone in-between in the AV/Collaboration world will come-together to share the newest, hottest, & best state-of-the-art trends, tools, & technology in the industry today. With all of that Audio-Visual love in one-room, maybe even more AV “Connections” will be made!
